The place was a great remembrance of the days long gone, showcasing historical wealth. It's an architectural marvel, and it's evident that despite many natural disasters there has been quite the effort put in by the government and historians to restore the sanctity of the place. However administration could be much better, as there was no one inside the castle to keep a check on the tourists. Also quite unsafe as many places high up have no protective coverage and carelessness can cost someone everything.
It's a good place to visit, not so popular but everyone should visit this fort once. Please don't forget to carry water bottles. Be prepared to walk a lot. It has too many stairs and long ramps. View from the fort is beautiful. They provide an audio guide as well which is chargeable. Entry ticket is 20 per person but has to be online. Scan a code there, go to asi website and pay.
It is clean fort and has a temple inside.
Also, please stop writing on fort walls and keep the place clean.
Absolutely recommend visiting this place! Don't forget to grab the audio guide at the entrance – it's a game-changer for understanding the rich history. Negotiate for a better price, and embark on an unforgettable journey through the fort. While there's some climbing involved, the breathtaking view makes it all worthwhile.
Have always enjoyed first and places with history. This was my 3rd visit to Kangra fort It was even better with two history enthusiasts, mum and her cousin. Went on international yoga day so they made the entry free else there's a nominal entry fee. There was cloud cover so this time I didn't get to see the Dhauladhar range from the top. On other days it's just breathtakingly beautiful. Always worth a visit. 👌👍
This fort must have been beautiful in its own time. It's different from the other forts I have seen.
It's all shattered now because of earthquake in 1905. Be prepared to walk a lot. It has too many stairs and long ramps. View from the fort is beautiful. There is a museum as well after stepping out of the fort which has all the belongings of fort. There is a history Lineage of all the ruling kings which is interesting. Museum also has an entry ticket of 35 per person and HE ASKS FOR CASH ONLY WHICH IS ANNOYING. Right next to museum there is a small cafe which has reasonable rates but again you have to pay back to museum person only and in CASH AGAIN.
