Whenever on that route we must take break at hotel Nupur , Nurpur Himachal pradesh , for tea or lunch or fresh snacks.
Never stayed there so don't know about rooms.
Staff from reception to restaurant always serve with smiling face. Food, beverages etc delicious.
The hotel would have been one of its kind a few years back but hasn't been maintained well since then. The staff is well behaved and food is good. The hotel from the outside seems pretty good however it has got rustic from inside with time. They definitely have potential to improve and can surely get better if adequate resources are provided.
Amazing hotel at a wonderful price and the service is really 5 Star in the hotel. Deluxe rooms are excellent with heater options and lots of space. Vintage style rooms give an amazing feel although the hotel looks bit old. They have used lots of marble and wood everywhere so the age doesn't matter. Really happy that we went here and had great experience! Worth the visit.
Giving it 2 stars because of hotel staff behaviour.
Would give it one star but I got 20% discount (Room for ₹960) - Standard Air Cooled Room. Pricing starts from Rs.1200, otherwise for non AC room. Also I checked in at around 11 AM while there checking time is 2 PM and they did not charge me extra.
Price wise, there is not much competition here in Nurpur because choices to book online are few. Hotel has outdoor parking available. In most of the popular places in India, you would get awesome AC room for Rs.700 - Rs.800. So that way it was not value for money hotel.
Room was given to me at Rs.960 but receptionist suggested me to pay Rs.1000 in advance stating they would balance out in the total bill if I ordered something. This is NOT good etiquette given that you are working in hospitality industry, forcing guests to pay more.
Immediately 10 minutes after I checked in, I got breakfast delivered to me. I had not ordered anything and had already done breakfast but didn't find it good to turn away cooked fook as they might throw it then. So I took it anyways. Also I ordered a mineral water bottle for which I was charged Rs.37 (totally fine, hotels can).
While checking out, I was asked to pay EXTRA. They charged me for breakfast and when I asked if it was complimentary, they said no and that instead it was someone else's order misdelivered to me. Their mistake I paid. I don't mind paying because I had the food anyways (but I could have ordered as per my choice then if I was paying). Next time someone bulging into my room with food that I didn't order will be questioned.
I am not saying not to visit this hotel but just be wary of where you might get tricked.
The matress was very basic and clubbed with very old quilt and old fashioned blankets was something you can get in a guest house room for Rs.400/day. Room was clean but I am not sure if bedding / towels were washed.
